A Song
(17.12.2023)
A Song
Not a libretto, but
A song, some lyrics
Got lost, the sheets of paper,
The notes I handed over
They, alas, did not return.
But I remember being
Nineenteen, or better Seven-
Teen to nineteen and beyond.
And I remember tuning, tuning
A guitar, the pedal, I recall, the
Wah-wah pedal or the metronome.
The beat, the noise (more noise, more
Whatever, not that clean sound, not that
Unironical bare sentimen-
Tality. All is a song, all
Makes a song. A song of
Memories, bittersweet, and strings
Some strings might still be left,
Broken strings, but only the guitar itself
I gave away.
It had too clean a sound.
