Okay, I play this, but
This is not me, I’m not that
Yelling kind of guy as this
Composer is
Who speaks
Either very softly or very loudly.

But, yes, you have to yell because
The Principessa has to know
That you have feelings.
You have to yell in major keys as in the minor ones,
Because she has to know, since otherwise
She will not know when to ignore them.

(Just kidding)

Appassionata – lava flows, eruptions
In the secret garden of your mind, and as Zimerman has also said
It is about some hints you give as to the kind of feelings,
Hints the interpreter must give theatrically
To an audience who also might think visually, so

Do a little yelling as in life, also with gestures
With expressions of your face, because
Also in life, you will not manage to get through
Very convincingly if only soberly
You tell them what you have to tell while still you’re wearing
Your armour, your secret Black Prince armour
And some expressionism is needed, some spice, some color

A waking-up with suddenly –
A rage – sudden awareness of
You might be being chasen from your own home;
And after feeling rather composed, since
Some possibilities you still might seem to have –
Panic is – the final movement – ruling your secret little mind
And although – perpetual movement –
Some moments of soothed panic might bring some ease
You run and run, ’til finally
Your lose your home, and then you know:
You lost.

But might it not be possible
To start over with the middle movement, just to have
A new beginning?
Not immediately so, no, this is not possible.
First there has to be damage assessment, then
Yes, with management of damage done, then yes
There might be starting over.
